Sabah is famous for its Beaufort Mee!

Beaufort Mee is actually Kon Lou Mee served with pork and some spring onion, but it ain't any other ordinary Kon Lou Mee, probably because of the ingredients used or the way the prepare it, as it has that 'slurrp' factor and the texture of the mee/mee hoon/kuey teow is more 'moisty'.

So my Sunday breakfast made perfect with:

Extra Large Kon Lou Mee (Beaufort Mee)
In Sabah, they call it 'Ka Liao' (from Mandarin 'Jia Liao'), a term that you want your portion to be of extra large type.


The writer's brother ordered Extra Large Kon Lou Kuey Teow.


The writer's mom ordered Kon Lou Mee Hoon.

I forgot the name of the restaurant but it's in Foh Sang, at the very corner of a shophouse and in the same row as BSN and those mini markets :)

...oh and yes, there is a town called Beaufort in Sabah.

If you like your dinner to be simple, nothing fanciful, then you should drop by at New Man Tai Restaurant.
My family ordered:

Pig skin soup


Sweet and sour pork, cooked to perfection.


YES!Bittergourd cooked with beef. The writer is a big fan of bittergourd!


This restaurant is very famous for its sayur sawi cooked with pork. I believe it has to do with the gravy, it's thick and delicious, and I notice every time I have dinner almost every table orders this dish.

This restaurant opens in the morning and in the evening, and always take their days off on Wednesdays.

Location: Jalan Bundusan (Jalan Duta), next to Supertanker.

World AIDS Day

As you read this post,

someone contracts HIV and dies from AIDS.

People living with HIV deserve our support,

they don't deserve discrimination.

Food Blog #2

If you love dim sum, like me, you should really come to Foo Phing Dim Sum, Hilltop.

Sorry folks, they were in the writer's digestive system already.

This one is called "No Mi Kai". Direct translation, glutinous rice with chicken, mushroom & "Lap Cheong" (direct translation: pig sausage). I had this one for breakfast and boy, I enjoyed it.

"Zhu Rou Pau" (Direct Translation: Pork Bun)



The writer's favourite: CHICKEN FEET!

Location: Hilltop. It's in the new building (the new Commercial Centre,I believe, correct me if I'm wrong).
